Zombies will eat your brains and then your heart

I find this whole premise a little nauseating, and I can't really think of anything cute to say except: zombie love story novel. Gross.

And a book trailer (I friggin hate book trailers):

That's right. He is a feeling, hipster, loving zombie. Gag.

  1. I SO TOTALLY HAVE TO READ THIS NOW.

"Yesterday I met a girl. I almost ate her, but I changed my mind. I hid her from my fellow dead, and took her home."

    OH.EM.GEE.

And as far as book trailers go, this is probably the best one I've seen yet. Don't be a hater.

  2. I don't know how I feel about this. (The book, not the trailer. I KNOW how I feel about book trailers.)

I have no problem with zombie fiction, but I prefer it to be a little tongue in cheek. I have a feeling this one is taking itself too seriously.

  3. The trouble with book trailers: They're too long, they aren't cheap, shallow, jolting, jarring, tantalizing, stimulating and thrilling enough, like movie trailers. And there's no loud, thumping music.

They managed to make a zombie boring.

  4. I watched this trailer with the sound off, because, you know, book trailers. But then I thought, "Hey, isn't that the Amazon building?" And yes, it is! And that's Smith Tower, and the unfinished cloverleaf at the Arboretum and hey, it's a Seattle zombie love story! That makes it extra-special special, right?

  5. Lydia, I am a hater at my very core. And Terry is right, I want cheap thrills from my trailers! Cheap and thrilling!

  6. Cheap? Check. It's the thrills they're lacking.
Okay, if this was meant to be serious then I guess I interpreted it wrong. I thought it was a humor piece...

  8. I particularly enjoyed the super tame zombie attack scene. When it first started I thought it was going to be humorous as well, but as it progressed I changed my mind.

    Blech.

  9. Okay.

Really? A SERIOUS zombie love story?

Not all zombie love stories are bad. My buddy SG Browne's Breathers is awesome. And I have a YA one actually being checked out by editors at this very moment. (Please cross fingers, toes, and all other appropriate appendages, praying for my agent to call me any day now with "the good news call") The key is, if you're writing a zombie love story, it had better be funny. No one wants to read some emo mush about people with mushy parts.

  10. Richard,
Particularly if those mushy parts are only tenuously attached . . . oh the mental images that need to be removed from my head as a result of this trailer.
